A Rescuer Steps In

When Andrea Peralta, a dedicated rescuer from Animal Defenders, witnessed Max’s terrible condition, she didn’t hesitate to intervene.

Max’s situation was heartbreaking, living under a broken sofa, without the comfort of a cozy home.

Max’s health problems were evident, from skin issues to parasites, a result of years of neglect by his previous owner.

But even in the face of so much suffering, Max still maintained a shy reserve, a result of his lack of socialization with people.

“They found out he was developing liver and pancreas problems and had to be hospitalized again. This is because his previous family used ivermectin to treat his skin problems and this could cause a lot of damage to such a young dog,” wrote the AD team on Instagram.

The Road to Recovery

After being taken to a shelter and receiving the necessary care, Max faced a long road to recovery.

Liver and pancreas problems, caused by improper treatments, required a special diet and intensive care.

But, thanks to the generosity of the community that rallied to help him, Max gradually regained his health and vitality.

After a month, he emerged as a new dog, full of energy and ready to enjoy life.

“He has a whole life ahead of him to be happy and feel healthy, like he has never felt before,” wrote his saviors on Instagram.

A New Beginning

Max’s transformation was remarkable. From the shy first days at the shelter, he soon became an enthusiastic participant in backyard play, showing a new zest for life.

And now, Max is ready for a new journey: adoption.

With the confidence that he will find a loving home and a dedicated family, we can only wish that Max finally finds the love and care he so deserves.
